The Winter Gardens - www.wintergardensblackpool.co.uk
The Winter Gardens in the centre of town is as iconic a landmark in Blackpool as the famous Tower, and has been around for much longer than most of the seaside town’s famous attractions, dating back to 1878! There’s always a packed calendar of events at the Winter Gardens, pre-show meal offers, or you could even book a tour of the fabulous Art Deco venue.
Let’s have a look to see what’s coming up this summer!
In June, you can shake a tail feather at Totally Tina on 3 June, where the UK’s number one Tina Turner tribute act faithfully recreates a live concert to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Queen of Rock’n’Roll’s signature track, Proud Mary. Music fans will also not want to miss The International Soul Festival’s Flavours Of The Festival All-Dayer on 17 June.
Comedy fans will undoubtedly want to see Jimmy Carr on 9 June, host of 8 Out Of 10 Cats and the irreverent Countdown crossover, as well as The Big Fat Quiz annual shows and much more, with his Terribly Funny 2.0 tour, but be quick as tickets are selling fast! The award-winning Six: The Musical also returns to Blackpool in July, where the six wives of Henry VIII take the mic to tell their stories, and remix 500 years of history into an 80-minute rebellious celebration of 21st-century girl power. Certainly not to be missed!
If that has stoked your rebellious nature, then you should certainly book tickets to Rebellion Festival on 6 August, the largest independent punk and alternative music festival in the world! Punks and bands from all eras of the genre gather in Blackpool for what is surely going to be a loud, colourful and raucous event, complete with a Bizarre Bazaar and Punk Rock Bingo!

If it’s a classic Regency rom-com you’re looking for, then Quality Street, a beloved production that gave its name to the chocolates, and from J M Barrie, the writer of Peter Pan, is a must-see show. When Captain Valentine returns from 10 years of fighting in the Napoleonic Wars, he’s disappointed to find his old flame is not the glamorous girl he left behind.
But Phoebe is spurred into action, becoming her alter ego Miss Livvy, who beguiles the Captain. But can she manage to juggle both of her personas and win him over, or cause a scandal in the town?
